Instructed and guided by an ACMG Ski Guide (Association of Canadian Mountain Guide) and CAA Professional Member (Canadian Avalanche Association) Certified Instructor., with over 30-years experience in the Sea to Sky area.

This is a very hands-on Introduction course that will take the group into the backcountry off Whistler or Blackcomb or off the Duffy north of Pemberton (location depending on weather and avalanche conditions), so there will be a pre-trip planning communication via phone or email to ensure you are well prepared for the day. before heading out as part of the lessons.

While we recommend having at least your AST1 or AST2 certification, it is not required for the course, as we will include an introduction to Avalanche Safety and companion rescue. Although, we highly recommend taking an AST1 course as a follow-up to this program.
