Tenquille Lake to Fowl Lakes Wilderness Backpacking Traverse

Summer 2024

One Duck Lake just north of Mt Barbour

One Duck Lake just north of Mt Barbour

Located in the mountains just north of Pemberton. Most of the route travels along the ridge right above the stunning deep Lillooet River Valley.

One of the objectives of the trip is be educational and hone participants lite weight backpacking skills, route finding, navigation and hazard avoidance. A 1-2 hour pre trip video conference call (7-10 days before the trip) introduces the trip, participants and also helps define the best gear.

After getting dropped off by helicopter at the top of tree line near Pemberton we will establish camp a short walk away, and scramble up Mt Ronayne.

The next few days takes the group along hiking and mining trails, over ridges and some peaks and by numerous deep blue lakes all in the upper treeline or alpine.

Much of the route has established trails but there is some off-trail talus scrabbling involved especially when going up peaks on side trips.

After 5 days of some of the most amazing traversing we get picked up by 4 wheel drive on a high access road and dropped off at the Pemberton Airport and personal vehicles.

This trip can also be done without helicopter at a reduced cost.
